Job summary

Sino Hotels invites an experienced Engineer to lead the safe operation and maintenance of hotel facilities across its Hong Kong properties. You will guide engineering teams, manage energy controls and ensure financial planning for maintenance and capital projects.

The role requires a Diploma or higher in a related field, an Electrical Worker Grade A certificate, and at least 8 years of hotel engineering experience, with fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Qualifications

• Higher Diploma or above in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
• Certificate of Registration of Electrical Worker Grade A or above.
• Minimum 8 years with hotel engineering experience or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, fire services, plumbing & drainage, MVAC systems.
• Excellent organization and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for safe and efficient operation of the hotel and its equipment, maintenance and protection of assets.
• Provide advice to Senior Management on maintenance support, environmental controls and operational efficiency.
• Assist in budgeting and planning for maintenance, capital works and engineering plans; monitor performance.
• Control departmental costs and prepare cost budgets for the Engineering Department.
• Assist in energy management programs, record keeping and reporting of energy performance.
• Ensure adherence to statutory regulations and fire codes through reviewed policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the hotel and all its equipment, ancillary maintenance and repair services and protection of the property’s asset.
• Provide advice to the Senior Management on all aspects of maintenance support, environmental controls and the operational efficiency of the property.
• Assist to ensure that the effective financial management of the Engineering Department by setting maintenance budgets, capital works programs and engineering plans and ensuring that performance against there are regularly monitored and reviewed.
• Responsible for the general cost control aspects of maintenance, the preparation of departmental cost budgets and their implementation and submission to the Management.
• Assist in planning, implements and administers an energy management program by establishing energy reduction objectives, the maintenance of records and regular reporting of performance against these objectives.
• Environmental controls and energy conservation systems. Evaluates, controls and records energy usage and implements and upgrades energy conservation systems.
• Ensure adherence to all statutory regulations and fire codes by regularly reviewing policies and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Higher Diploma or above in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
• Certificate of Registration of Electrical Worker Grade A or above.
• Minimum 8 years with hotel engineering working experience or equivalent related experience.
• Good technical knowledge in electrical system, fire services system, plumbing & drainage system and MVAC system, etc.
• Well organized with excellent leadership skills.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in both oral and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
