Qualifications

• Proven experience as a chartering broker or in a related shipping role.
• Strong knowledge of time, voyage and bareboat charter transactions.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills forBuilding professional relationships.
• Familiarity with maritime industry software and chartering databases.
• Understanding of shipping documentation (bills of lading, contracts of affreightment).

Responsibilities

• Source vessels for clients seeking to charter and match specifications to cargo needs.
• Negotiate charter terms including freight rates, laycan windows, ports, and other conditions.
• Market vessel capacity to potential charterers and build a client portfolio.
• Develop relationships with ship owners, operators, and cargo interests.
• Prepare and manage charter documentation including fixtures and amendments.
• Monitor market trends, freight rates, and vessel availability.
• Coordinate among all parties to ensure smooth execution and compliance.
• Track deals through to completion and post-fixture communications.
• Maintain records of vessel information, rates, and transactions.
• Stay informed of industry regulations and maritime practices.
