About the Role
The Business Development & Strategic Partnerships Manager is responsible for developing HODLife’s institutional network, originating new business opportunities, and building strategic partnerships across the digital asset, financial services, and insurance ecosystems.
The role requires strong market relationships, active external engagement, and a proven ability to convert relationships into commercial opportunities and completed transactions. The successful candidate will manage opportunities from initial engagement through execution while working closely with product, legal, compliance, operations, marketing, and management teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Institutional Business Development & Relationship Management
- Institutional Network Development: Develop and maintain strong relationships with institutional participants across the crypto and digital asset ecosystem, including exchanges, custodians, asset managers, blockchain foundations, stablecoin issuers, technology providers, institutional investors, and other strategic partners.
- Business Origination: Identify, originate, and evaluate new commercial opportunities, distribution relationships, and potential partnerships.
- Relationship Management: Develop strong relationships with senior decision-makers and maintain consistent engagement with key industry participants and prospective partners.
2. Strategic Partnerships & Deal Execution
- Strategic Partnership Development: Identify and develop partnerships supporting the company’s product development, distribution, infrastructure, and market expansion objectives.
- Deal Management: Manage the full business development cycle from initial engagement and proposal through negotiation, internal approval, documentation, and execution.
- Commercial Assessment: Evaluate potential partnerships based on strategic relevance, commercial viability, partner capabilities, and long-term business value.
3. Market Engagement, Events & Sales Materials
- Industry Engagement: Attend and actively participate in relevant conferences, networking events, industry meetings, and market activities to develop the company’s network and identify new opportunities.
- External Representation: Represent the company professionally at partner meetings, conferences, panels, and other industry engagements.
- Presentations & Sales Materials: Prepare high-quality presentations, pitch decks, proposals, partnership materials, and other sales collateral and deliver clear and persuasive presentations to prospective partners and institutional stakeholders.
- Follow-Up & Conversion: Maintain structured follow-up after meetings and events to convert relevant relationships into actionable business opportunities.
4. Cross-Functional Execution & Pipeline Management
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, legal, compliance, operations, marketing, and management teams to structure and execute business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate stakeholders with different priorities and ensure that opportunities progress efficiently through internal review and approval processes.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate records of business opportunities, meetings, follow-up actions, expected commercial outcomes, and deal progress.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor industry developments, competitor activity, emerging technologies, and market trends and provide relevant feedback and recommendations to management.
Requirements
Experience & Qualifications
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in business development, institutional sales, strategic partnerships, or relationship management, including a minimum of 3 years within the crypto, digital asset, fintech sectors or financial services industry.
- Strong and active relationships with institutional participants across the crypto and digital asset ecosystem.
- Proven track record of originating, negotiating, and successfully closing commercial transactions or strategic partnerships.
- Demonstrated experience developing commercial relationships with senior decision-makers.
- Experience working with institutional investors, financial institutions, asset managers, exchanges, custodians, or other institutional digital asset participants.
- Experience in insurance, life insurance, wealth management, or insurance distribution is an advantage.
- Understanding of how digital assets may be incorporated into insurance, investment, or wealth-management products is an advantage.
- Experience working across Asian and international markets is an advantage.
- Existing institutional relationships in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Singapore, the UAE, or other relevant markets are an advantage.
