1. Domain Leadership & Requirements Engineering
- Act as the primary New Business (NB) domain authority throughout the core system revamp lifecycle.
- Facilitate workshops with Underwriting, New Business Operations, Product Development, and Compliance to define future-state business processes and target operating models.
- Elicit, analyze, and document complex business requirements, user stories, and functional/non-functional specifications for individual life, group life, and riders (traditional, unit-linked, and universal life products).
2. Solution Design & Process Optimization
- Re-engineer and simplify end-to-end NB processes—from application submission (POS/e-App) and automated underwriting rules engines (AUER) to medical/financial requirements gathering, rating, and policy issuance.
- Champion Straight-Through Processing (STP) initiatives to minimize manual touchpoints and reduce turnaround times (TAT).
- Collaborate with solution architects and system integrators to map out data flows, integrations (with CRM, payment gateways, reinsurers, and medical data providers), and legacy migration strategies.
3. Testing & Delivery Governance
- Define the overall User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategy, test scenarios, and expected outcomes for NB modules.
- Review and sign off on functional configurations, ensuring out-of-the-box core platform features are maximized while complex customizations are rigorously justified.
- Manage scope, track deliverables, identify project risks/dependencies, and report progress to steering committees and executive sponsors.
4. Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with training and change management teams to prepare operations and distribution channels for the new system rollout.
- Address operational roadblocks and resolve complex business trade-offs during design and build phases.
