Job summary

Vantage GRC in Hong Kong seeks an experienced Precious Metals Trader at AVP to VP level to join its Global Commodities desk. You will price, execute, and manage risk on physical and derivative precious metal flows while partnering with Sales to structure client solutions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of precious metals trading experience, a university degree in Finance or Economics, CFA preferred, and fluency in English and Mandarin to support regional client coverage.

Job description

Top Chinese Investment Bank is seeking an experienced Precious Metals Trader (AVP to VP level) to join its Global Commodities / Global Markets desk in Hong Kong. You will drive pricing, execution, and risk management for physical and derivative precious metal flows, while partnering with sales to structure client solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Trading & Risk Management: Price, execute, and risk-manage flow and derivative transactions across OTC spot, forwards, swaps, options, and futures.
• Client Solutions: Collaborate with Sales to structure hedging and investment solutions for corporate and institutional clients.
• Cross-Functional Execution: Work closely with Compliance, Operations, Risk, and IT to ensure seamless desk operations, system enhancements, and regulatory compliance.

Key Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years of precious metal trading experience (candidates with a strong PnL track record in other relevant asset classes will be considered). Regional (HK/overseas) experience is a strong plus.
• Education: University degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline; CFA is preferred.
• Skills & Network: Strong understanding of commodity trading models, product structures, and risk management frameworks; robust client/broker network is advantageous.
• Languages: Professional fluency in both English and Mandarin (written and spoken) is required.

Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline; relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) are an advantage.

Prior front-office trading or structuring experience in a bank or commodities trading firm, ideally with a focus on precious metals or FX/commodities.

Fluency in English; proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is highly beneficial for client and internal communication in Hong Kong.
