Responsibilities
- Evaluate, structure, and recommend financial and strategic alternatives, including mergers, acquisitions, asset sales, and divestitures.
- Lead day‑to‑day transaction execution: due diligence, valuation analysis, and negotiation of contracts and other agreements; coordinate analyst materials.
- Analyze financial data and market developments relevant to PJT Partners’ business.
- Conduct research of targeted industries for investment purposes.
- Perform valuation analysis of prospective investment opportunities, assessing financial risks.
- Compare a company’s financial data with peers of similar size, industry, and location; forecast industry trends.
- Design and develop quantitative models to assess the economic performance of target companies.
- Prepare written analysis and evaluations for internal review by PJT Partners management and for client presentations.
- Participate in internal and external client meetings, contract negotiations, and due diligence sessions.
- Mentor and train junior team members, promoting a collaborative team culture.
- Gain exposure to Private Capital Solutions and Restructuring & Special Situations groups; work on diverse strategic transactions, including financial sponsor solutions, structured liquidity solutions, institutional investor solutions, and restructuring/special situations projects.
- Execute a wide range of transactions: sell‑side, divestitures, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, equity and debt recapitalizations, private placements, and corporate restructurings.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2‑3 years of relevant investment banking experience with a focus on M&A and corporate finance.
- Fluency in English and at least one additional Asian language (Korean strongly preferred).
- Strong analytical and modelling skills, with demonstrated buy‑side and sell‑side execution experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively in lean deal teams.
