Job summary

Michaels Stores in Hong Kong is seeking a proactive Global Sourcing Support Analyst to help execute end-to-end sourcing processes, manage vendors, and drive improvement across product categories. This role collaborates with teams to ensure timely delivery, quality, and value while building strong supplier relationships.

Qualifications

• Degree/Associate/Diploma in Merchandising/Business Management or related discipline.
• Hands-on computer knowledge in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point & Chinese Word Processing.
• Minimum 1 year’s work experience, basic sourcing experience gained from US buying office/ retailer is preferable.
• Energetic, self-motivated, detail-oriented and independent working style.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; team player.
• English and Mandarin proficiency in written and spoken form.

Responsibilities

• Support the execution and improvement of end-to-end sourcing practices for assigned product categories.
• Assist with vendor development and management, including liaison with agents, price negotiation, product development and sample assessment to meet on-time delivery, quality and KPIs.
• Source and develop potential vendors and maintain relationships to meet value, quality and innovation requirements.
• Liaise with sample handling, order management, laboratory testing, packaging artwork creation and approvals.
• Support RFPs, category costing bids and product development activities with sourcing teams.
• Assists in product development trips, sourcing trips and finalization events to ensure smooth arrangements.
• Execute order management to ensure accuracy of database; monitor and update project status of assigned product categories.
• Perform data entry and provide other administrative support; support ad hoc assignments and projects.

Job Description

What will you be doing?

This position is responsible for supporting the execution and improvement of end-to-end best practices in Global Sourcing for assigned product categories. This role is accountable for supporting the development and management of vendors, as well as maintaining existing vendor relationships and driving projects to ensure that vendors meet or exceed their contractual obligations by delivering innovative, quality products on time.

• Assist the team in Sourcing Process Execution and Vendor Management
• Execute and improve the end-to-end sourcing processes including vendor management, liaison with agents, price negotiation, product development and sample assessment to meet the on-time delivery, quality and commercial KPIs
• Source and develop potential vendors as well as drive a respectful and collaborative vendor relationship with existing vendors to ensure they meet all company’s requirements including value, quality and innovation.
• Liaise with various parties in sample handling, order management, laboratory testing, packaging artwork creation and approval processes.
• Support on Request for Proposal, category costing bids and product development independently in conjunction with and product development and sourcing teams.
• Assists in product development trip, sourcing trip and finalization events to ensure its smooth arrangement
• Execute order management to ensure accuracy of database; Monitor and regular update on project status of assigned product categories.
• Perform data entry and provide other administrative support in the team; Support ad hoc assignments and projects if necessary.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities requirements:-

• Degree/ Associate Degree/ Diploma holder in Merchandising/ Business Management or related discipline
• Hands-on computer knowledge in MS word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point & Chinese Word Processing
• Minimum 1 year’s work experience, basic sourcing experience gained from US buying office/ retailer is preferable
