Job summary

Value Partners Group is seeking a healthcare investment professional to source and evaluate biotech opportunities across Greater China and global markets. You will conduct rigorous due diligence, build financial models and investment memos to inform decisions.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration with biotech experts, entrepreneurs and government partners while supporting fundraising and portfolio monitoring in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• A degree in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences or a related field.
• Hands-on cross-border biotech or life science ops with revenue generation and partnerships.
• Practical experience using agentic CLI tools for research, data analysis, automation and investment execution.

Responsibilities

• Research biotech, life sciences, medical technology and digital health; source opportunities in China and internationally. Track industry trends, competition, regulation and capital markets.
• Conduct technical, commercial and financial due diligence; build financial models and investment memos for IC materials.
• Build relationships with entrepreneurs, biotech companies, academic experts, industry associations, government bodies; support fundraising and LP relations.
• Support transaction execution, including term-sheet negotiations, documentation and internal processes; coordinate relevant workstreams to meet deadlines.
• Monitor portfolio companies’ milestones, financial performance and R&D progress; prepare portfolio reports.

Support venture capital and private equity investments in healthcare, biotech and life sciences across Greater China and global markets, from early-stage ventures to growth and mature businesses. Work across the investment cycle, combining scientific and technology assessment with commercial, financial and go-to-market judgement.

Key Responsibilities

• Research biotech, life sciences, medical technology and digital health; source investment opportunities in China and internationally. Track industry trends, competition, regulation and capital markets.
• Conduct technical, commercial and financial due diligence, using AI/ML expertise to assess technology, business models, unit economics, risks and growth drivers. Build financial models and prepare investment memos and investment committee materials.
• Build relationships with entrepreneurs, biotech companies, academic experts, industry associations, corporate partners and local and central government bodies. Support fundraising and LP relations through diligence materials, market insights and roadshows.
• Support transaction execution, including term-sheet negotiations, documentation and internal processes. Coordinate technical, commercial and compliance workstreams to meet investment deadlines.
• Monitor portfolio companies’ operating milestones, financial performance and R&D progress; prepare regular portfolio reports.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

• Degree in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, a related medical discipline or another relevant field. Strong quantitative foundation in data analytics, AI technology evaluation, financial analysis and fintech risk analytics.
• Hands-on experience in cross-border biotech or life science operations and business development, with a record of generating revenue, negotiating with major stakeholders and closing strategic partnerships. Credible engagement with senior executives, government bodies and institutional partners.
• Strong practical experience using agentic CLI tools and associated workstreams for research, data analysis, automation and investment execution.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage concurrent workstreams and deliver measurable results with limited resources and tight timelines.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese; able to produce clear investment memos, research reports and presentations.
• Fast learner with sharp industry judgement, a high sense of ownership and urgency, and a self-driven, results-oriented approach in a fast-paced investment environment.
