Job summary

Private Advertiser in Hong Kong seeks a Principal to lead research on AI, gaming, and consumer internet sectors, develop investment views, source opportunities, and oversee execution across the full investment cycle.

You will also manage portfolio companies, build founder relationships, and collaborate with co-investors and ecosystem partners to create long-term value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in STEM, Finance, Economics, Business, or related disciplines.
• 6+ years in venture capital investment transactions with full-cycle deal experience.
• Proven ability to source investment opportunities and lead due diligence.
• Strong financial and commercial analysis, valuation, and investment judgment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth research on AI, gaming, and consumer internet sectors, and identify attractive investment opportunities and emerging industry trends.
• Develop independent investment views and build new investment themes based on market dynamics, technology trends, competitive landscape, business models, and valuation benchmarks.
• Continuously build and maintain a high-quality deal pipeline, and independently source early-stage and growth-stage investment opportunities.
• Lead investment analysis, financial and commercial due diligence, valuation, deal structuring, negotiation, investment committee materials preparation, and transaction execution.
• Participate in portfolio companies' strategic planning, follow-on financing, business development, key talent recruitment, corporate governance, and exit planning.
• Mobilize internal and external resources of the fund to support portfolio companies and create long-term value.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with founders, entrepreneurs, co-investors, industry experts, advisors, and other ecosystem partners.
• Support portfolio companies in developing and executing exit strategies, including M&A, secondary transactions, strategic financing, or IPO-related preparation where applicable.
• Work closely with investment team members and senior management, and provide guidance to junior investment professionals where appropriate.

About you

• Bachelor's degree or above in STEM, Finance, Economics, Business, or related disciplines
• At least 6 years of experience in venture capital investment transactions, with full-cycle experience in deal sourcing, investment execution, and portfolio management
• Proven ability to independently source investment opportunities, conduct investment analysis, lead due diligence, and manage complex transactions
• Strong financial analysis, commercial analysis, valuation, project management, and investment judgment capabilities
• Able to work independently, take ownership of outcomes, and drive initiatives proactively in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent command of written and spoken English, with fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese
• Entrepreneurial mindset, pragmatic working style, strong sense of responsibility, and ability to deliver results under ambiguity
