Job summary

Hong Kong Monetary Authority is seeking an Associate Fintech Director to lead tokenisation and CBDC projects within the Fintech Facilitation Office. You will oversee end-to-end system development, provide technical guidance, and coordinate with central banks, financial institutions, and research bodies.

The role requires hands-on experience in Web3 and CBDC frameworks, strong communication skills, and the ability to distill complex technical concepts for executives.

Qualifications

• University degree in computer science, information technology or related field.
• Hands-on experience with tokenisation frameworks, CBDC systems or DeFi projects.
• Strong ability to translate complex Web3 concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with traditional financial market infrastructure and payments.
• Fluency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end tokenisation and CBDC projects from strategy to implementation.
• Act as a technical advisor on blockchain, CBDC, and tokenisation architectures.
• Conduct research on Web3 advances and assess policy impact on infrastructure.
• Mentor teammates and collaborate with partners across central banks and industry.
• Provide after-hours support and participate in weekend deployments when needed.
• Present findings clearly to executives and stakeholders.
