Job summary

G MASS Consulting seeks a Governance and Oversight Lead to join our offshore cash equities settlements team for a global investment banking client in APAC. You will own post-trade governance, oversee offshore teams, and drive cross-border collaboration to strengthen controls and efficiency.

Daily BAU in asset servicing, payments, client asset segregation and bank reconciliations, with a focus on risk mitigation, process automation, and data-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in financial services, ideally within sell side or custody operations.
• Asset servicing experience is a strong plus.
• Background in delivering automation or analytics improvements is a strong plus.
• Professional qualifications welcomed but not required.
• Proactive, collaborative and adaptable under pressure.
• Reliable, self-motivated and consistent in hitting deadlines.
• Understanding of settlement or payment system transaction flows.

Responsibilities

• Produce and review daily KRIs, build out a framework for analysing post trade data, and keep management informed through regular updates.
• Act as the main point of contact for stakeholders, regulators, auditors and service providers.
• Partner with offshore teams to build a supervisory framework that catches risks early and resolves or escalates them promptly.
• Review existing BAU processes to spot gaps and put forward practical improvements to efficiency, controls and client experience.
• Take ownership of cash equities settlement oversight across APAC markets.
• Support offshore teams in tracking down and clearing settlement discrepancies.
• Work across departments on reconciliations, payments, settlements, reporting and related financial analysis.
• Get involved in ad-hoc projects and broader process improvement work as needed.
• Handle asset servicing tasks arising from failed trades, stock borrowing and non-standard settlement cycles.
• Process external and intracompany payments tied to corporate actions, FX settlement, funding and margin.
• Flag and manage client assets that require timely segregation.
• Carry out bank reconciliations, tracking down and resolving any mismatches between ledger and statement records.

In this role, you will serve as the primary governance and oversight lead for post-trade operations, ensuring seamless settlement processing across a fast-moving APAC markets footprint. You will supervise offshore teams, drive cross-border collaboration, and use data insights to streamline settlement processes, close control gaps and improve the overall client experience.

• Fluent in English and Cantonese
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfortable with Word, Excel and Outlook; programming exposure a bonus
• Exposure to Python, AI tools or automation platforms like Alteryx is beneficial
• Understanding of settlement or payment system transaction flows
