Job summary

G MASS is seeking a Governance and Oversight Lead to support offshore cash equities settlements for a leading global investment banking client. You will drive post-trade governance, oversee settlements across APAC markets, and supervise offshore teams to close control gaps and improve client experience.

You will also manage daily BAU in asset servicing, payments, client asset segregation and bank reconciliations, emphasizing process efficiency, risk mitigation and automation driven by post-trade

Qualifications

• 5+ years in financial services, with cash equities or custody operations.
• Automation or analytics improvements experience is beneficial.
• Fluent in English and Cantonese.

Responsibilities

• Produce and review daily KRIs and build a framework for post-trade data analysis.
• Act as main contact for stakeholders, regulators, auditors, and service providers.
• Partner with offshore teams to build a supervisory framework to catch risks early.
• Review BAU processes to identify gaps and propose improvements in efficiency and controls.

G MASS is seeking a highly motivated Governance and Oversight Lead to join one of our leading global investment banking clients, supporting their offshore cash equities settlements team. In this role, you will serve as the primary governance and oversight lead for post-trade operations, ensuring seamless settlement processing across a fast-moving APAC markets footprint. You will supervise offshore teams, drive cross-border collaboration, and use data insights to streamline settlement processes, close control gaps and improve the overall client experience.

Beyond governance and oversight, you will handle daily BAU across asset servicing, payments, client asset segregation and bank reconciliations, with a strong emphasis on process efficiency, risk mitigation and automation informed by post-trade data analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Produce and review daily KRIs, build out a framework for analysing post trade data, and keep management informed through regular updates
• Act as the main point of contact for stakeholders, regulators, auditors and service providers
• Partner with offshore teams to build a supervisory framework that catches risks early and resolves or escalates them promptly
• Review existing BAU processes to spot gaps and put forward practical improvements to efficiency, controls and client experience
• Take ownership of cash equities settlement oversight across APAC markets
• Support offshore teams in tracking down and clearing settlement discrepancies
• Work across departments on reconciliations, payments, settlements, reporting and related financial analysis
• Get involved in ad-hoc projects and broader process improvement work as needed
• Handle asset servicing tasks arising from failed trades, stock borrowing and non-standard settlement cycles
• Process external and intracompany payments tied to corporate actions, FX settlement, funding and margin
• Flag and manage client assets that require timely segregation
• Carry out bank reconciliations, tracking down and resolving any mismatches between ledger and statement records

• 5+ years in financial services, ideally within sell side or custody operations, with knowledge of cash equities markets
• Hands-on asset servicing experience is a strong plus
• Background in delivering automation or analytics improvements is a strong plus
• Professional qualifications welcomed but not required
• Proactive, collaborative and adaptable under pressure
• Reliable, self-motivated and consistent in hitting deadlines
• Fluent in English and Cantonese
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfortable with Word, Excel and Outlook; programming exposure a bonus
• Exposure to Python, AI tools or automation platforms like Alteryx is beneficial
• Understanding of settlement or payment system transaction flows
