(Assistant) Safety & Facilities Manager
Finance Office - Campus Management Section
Responsibilities
- Ensure the effective risk management, safety and security of the campus including staff, students, visitors and contractors
- Protect the college's assets from theft, assault, fire and other risks
- Responsible for all site safety matters within the campus and prepare policies, detailed procedures and requirements which, when implemented, shall achieve compliance with the Contractor's safety and Health obligations
- Carry out on-site inspections of a RSO as specified in FIU Regulation
- Maintain the Occupational Safety and Health Management Policy in accordance with applicable health & safety regulations, permits, statutory requirements and college policy
- To assist in the efficient running of the security safety function
- Patrol the campus property regularly and present a deterrent to safety and in-house rule violation
- Coordinate with different parties (both internal and external) on the health and safety compliance conduction & inspection, conduct accident investigation & prepare analysis reports, job hazard analysis and audit programs
- Implement the health and safety compliance and awareness promotional activities and training programs for all staff and on-site outsourced workers
- Respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to staff, students and visitors
- Organise Safety Management Committee and job-related meetings for internal and external parties including compiling agenda & minutes of meetings and keeping proper records for submission and distribution
- Provide administrative and secretarial support to the department
- Assist in handling tender and other procurement matters related to health & safety aspects
- Supervise and control the progress and quality of any safety improvement works performed by FM service providers and other awarded contractors
- Achieve optimal and maintain inventory condition of college fixed assets and health & safety items by conducting regular & annual stock take activities
- Attend emergency calls and perform special duties including working on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays when necessary
- Any ad hoc support or duties assigned by superior & department head
Requirements
Requirement of Education:
- Degree in Safety Management / Occupational Safety & Health / Facilities Management disciplines
- Candidates with relevant OSH qualifications eligible for registration will also be considered
Expected working experience (year):
- Minimum 5-6 years’ post-registration working experience of safety & environmental protection in property or facilities management industry
- Experience in ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 is an advantage
Professional Skill (if any):
- Registered Safety Officer under F&IU (S.O. / S.S.) Regulation Cap 59. or in Labour Department
- Holder of First Aid Certificate is preferred
- Knowledge and solid experience in property or facilities management, repair & maintenance and renovation projects is preferred
- Knowledge in AutoCAD is an advantage
- Experience in asset management is an advantage
Personal Skill:
- Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese, and good in Putonghua is preferred
- Proficiency in PC knowledge and MS Office
- Independent, motivated, self-initiated, strong follow-up and problem solving with good communication and interpersonal skills
