Bank of China (Malaysia) Berhad in Hong Kong seeks an Assistant / Project Manager (Financial Markets) to lead end-to-end system projects across the market, coordinating with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years in banking, with strong English and Putonghua communication, and familiarity with PM methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid). PMP/PRINCE2 are advantageous.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in banking or financial services with project management or business analysis.
• Excellent English and Chinese (Putonghua) communication and liaison skills with diverse stakeholders and senior management.
• Familiarity with treasury system operations, trading workflows, and market data structures is preferred.
• PM certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master, or PRINCE2 are advantageous.
• Less experienced candidate will be considered for contract role.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and lead end-to-end delivery of system projects across the Financial Markets sector; cover HK, SEA branches, and HQ.
• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements; conduct feasibility studies and prepare proposals for endorsement.
• Liaise with IT and vendors; balance priorities, resources, risk, and change scope with monitoring/control mechanisms.
• Manage the full project lifecycle within budgets and timelines; identify risks and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Facilitate prioritization discussions, chair project meetings, coordinate UAT progress and defect resolution.
• Provide support for ad-hoc tasks and special projects as assigned by Division Head or Senior PM.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead the end-to-end delivery of system projects to support ongoing business development and new product rollouts within the Financial Markets Sector, covering initiatives across Hong Kong, South-East Asia branches, and Headquarters.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional units to gather, analyze, and document business requirements; conduct feasibility studies and prepare comprehensive project proposals and supporting documentation for executive endorsement and approval.
• Liaise with IT departments and external vendors to devise project plans, balancing business priorities, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and change scope, while implementing precise monitoring and control mechanisms.
• Manage the full project lifecycle in accordance with approved budgets and timelines; identify potential risks and implement control measures, ensure high-quality deliverables, and maintain transparent status reporting to management and key stakeholders.
• Facilitate prioritization discussions for ongoing business demands, chair project meetings, and coordinate with IT teams to track User Acceptance Testing (UAT) progress and resolution of defects as necessary.
• Provide support for ad-hoc tasks and special projects as assigned by the Division Head or Senior Project Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the banking or financial services industry, with a strong background in project management or business analysis. Familiarity with treasury system operations, trading workflows, and market data structures is preferred.
• Excellent communication and liaison skills in both English and Chinese (including Putonghua), with the ability to coordinate effectively with diverse stakeholders and senior management.
• Proactive and self-motivated individual with strong planning, presentation, and negotiation skills; capable of managing multiple concurrent projects and working independently under pressure.
• Proficient in project management methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid approaches.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master, or PRINCE2 are advantageous.
• Less experienced candidate will be considered for contract role.
