Job summary

Leadingnation in Hong Kong seeks a project manager to plan and deliver end-to-end system projects spanning Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, and Headquarters. You will collaborate with IT, vendors, and business units to gather requirements, assess feasibility, and prepare executive proposals.

Required are a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in banking/financial services PM or business analysis, with strong English and Chinese communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the banking or financial services industry, with a strong background in project management or business analysis.
• Excellent communication and liaison skills in English and Chinese (including Putonghua), with the ability to coordinate effectively with diverse stakeholders and senior management.
• Proactive and self-motivated with strong planning, presentation, and negotiation skills; capable of managing multiple concurrent projects.
• Proficient in PM methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid approaches.
• Certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master, or PRINCE2 are advantageous.
• Less experienced candidate will be considered for contract role.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead the end-to-end delivery of system projects to support ongoing business development and new product rollouts within the Financial Markets Sector across Hong Kong, SEA branches, and Headquarters.
• Collaborate with cross-functional units to gather, analyze, and document business requirements; conduct feasibility studies and prepare proposals for executive endorsement.
• Liaise with IT departments and external vendors to devise project plans, balance priorities, allocate resources, manage risks, and monitor scope.
• Manage the full project lifecycle within approved budgets and timelines; identify risks, implement controls, ensure high-quality deliverables, and provide transparent status reporting to management.
• Facilitate prioritization discussions, chair project meetings, and coordinate with IT to track UAT progress and defect resolution.
• Provide support for ad-hoc tasks and special projects as assigned by the Division Head or Senior Project Manager.

• Liaise with IT departments and external vendors to devise project plans, balancing business priorities, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and change scope, while implementing precise monitoring and control mechanisms.
• Manage the full project lifecycle in accordance with approved budgets and timelines; identify potential risks and implement control measures, ensure high-quality deliverables, and maintain transparent status reporting to management and key stakeholders.
• Facilitate prioritization discussions for ongoing business demands, chair project meetings, and coordinate with IT teams to track User Acceptance Testing (UAT) progress and resolution of defects as necessary.
• Provide support for ad-hoc tasks and special projects as assigned by the Division Head or Senior Project Manager.
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the banking or financial services industry, with a strong background in project management or business analysis. Familiarity with treasury system operations, trading workflows, and market data structures is preferred.
• Excellent communication and liaison skills in both English and Chinese (including Putonghua), with the ability to coordinate effectively with diverse stakeholders and senior management.
• Proactive and self-motivated individual with strong planning, presentation, and negotiation skills; capable of managing multiple concurrent projects and working independently under pressure.
• Proficient in project management methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid approaches.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master, or PRINCE2 are advantageous.
• Less experienced candidate will be considered for contract role.
