Job summary

Randstad Hong Kong Limited is recruiting for a technical leader to drive digital transformation at a leading university in Hong Kong. You will oversee end-to-end software delivery, modernise core administrative applications, and integrate AI workflows using Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, React, and Next.js.

You will evaluate departmental workflows, lead AI readiness assessments, and ensure secure, high-performance enterprise applications across campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of enterprise software development experience.
• Strong mastery of Java/Jakarta EE, Spring Boot, Node.js, React, and relational databases.
• Hands-on with containerisation, API development, Redis caching, and Azure AD identity flows.
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools and IDE agents for code generation and review.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and cross‑tier communication skills.
• Fluent in English; Chinese (Cantonese/Putonghua) proficiency is required.
• Experience in university or higher-education administrative systems preferred.

• Lead end‑to‑end software lifecycles from requirement gathering with stakeholders to system design, build, deployment, and legacy modernization.

• Enhance, refactor, and migrate enterprise systems using Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, React, and Next.js.

• Evaluate departmental workflows for process automation, run AI readiness assessments, and integrate practical AI capabilities into applications.

• Break down complex specifications, leverage AI coding agents/IDEs to accelerate development, and audit generated output for security and performance.

• Design RESTful APIs, manage containerised environments, and implement SSO/MFA authentication flows via Azure AD.

• Optimise relational database layers, including Oracle 19c, MSSQL, and MySQL.

• Partner with network, cloud, and security teams to resolve technical issues, monitor reliability, and manage third‑party vendor deliverables.

Skills & experience required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 7 years of progressive, hands‑on enterprise software development experience.

• Strong technical mastery of Java/Jakarta EE, Spring Boot, Node.js, React, and relational databases.

• Hands‑on experience with containerisation, API development, caching solutions (Redis), and Azure AD identity flows.

• Practical familiarity using modern AI‑assisted coding tools and IDE agents for code generation and review.

• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and cross‑tier communication skills.

• Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese/Putonghua) is required.

• Prior experience engineering university or higher‑education administrative systems is highly preferred.
