Job summary

Adecco is seeking an experienced AI Engineering Lead in Hong Kong to drive the design, development, testing and deployment of AI-powered solutions across the organization.

You will lead a team of AI engineers, partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities, and oversee end‑to‑end delivery of AI applications (RAG, AI Agents, MCPs) while ensuring governance and SDLC adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in AI Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience developing and delivering AI applications, particularly Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Generative AI solutions.
• Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and managing technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of AI applications from concept to deployment, ensuring proper testing and governance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities and deliver innovative AI solutions (RAG, AI Agents, workflow orchestration).
• Design, develop, and integrate AI services with internal/external systems via APIs and MCPs.
• Mentor AI engineers and manage multiple initiatives across teams in an agile environment.
• Contribute to solution architecture and align AI capabilities with regulatory requirements.

Our client, a well-established financial regulatory organization in Hong Kong, is undergoing an enterprise-wide digital transformation journey and is expanding its Digital, Data & Technology team. They are seeking an experienced AI Engineering Lead to drive the design, development, testing, and deployment of AI-powered solutions that support key business initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner closely with business stakeholders to identify opportunities and deliver innovative AI solutions leveraging technologies such as RAG, AI Agents, and workflow orchestration.
• Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle of AI applications, from proof-of-concept and prototyping through production deployment, ensuring proper testing, validation, and governance.
• Design, develop, and integrate AI services with internal and external systems through APIs and Model Context Protocols (MCPs).
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Platform Engineers, Product Owners, and other technology teams to deliver scalable AI solutions in an agile and continuous delivery environment.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies, industry trends, and best practices, promoting adoption where appropriate.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of AI Engineers while managing project scope, priorities, timelines, and delivery quality across multiple initiatives.
• Contribute to solution architecture and technical design, aligning AI capabilities with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in AI Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience developing and delivering AI applications, particularly Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Generative AI solutions.
• Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and managing technical teams.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Alibaba Cloud. Relevant certifications are advantageous.
• Hands-on experience implementing MLOps or LLMOps practices within enterprise environments.
• Experience in modern web application development is an advantage (e.g. React, Next.js, TypeScript).
