The South China Morning Post is seeking an Assistant Manager, People Data and Technology to elevate HR operations, analytics, and digital transformations from its Causeway Bay office.
You will steward the BIPO HRIS, run UATs, automate processes, deliver HR dashboards, and develop SOPs while supporting payroll, audits, and strategic HR projects with external vendors and diverse stakeholders.
Purpose of the Position:
We are seeking a forward-thinking and analytical Assistant Manager, People Data and Technology to elevate our HR operations, workforce analytics, and spearhead digital transformation. In this role, you will drive operational excellence by reengineering core HR processes, delivering actionable business insights, and leveraging AI-enabled innovations to inform organizational strategy and enhance employee experiences.
In this job, you will:
Serve as primary steward for HRIS (BIPO) and peripheral applications, ensuring high system uptime, rigorous data governance, and strategic alignment with business objectives.
Collaborate with the Product & Technology team and external vendors to lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and execute seamless system upgrades, portal enhancements, and digital workflows.
Champion process automation and introduce AI-enabled capabilities to streamline routine HR tasks and improve operational efficiency.
People Analytics & Reporting
Deliver accurate, comprehensive, and timely HR analytics reports and executive dashboards on a regular schedule.
Continuously refine data models, report formats, and metrics based on stakeholder feedback to provide actionable business insights to leadership.
Documentation, Training & Knowledge Management
Develop and maintain comprehensive standard operating procedures, user instruction manuals, and documentation on internal knowledge bases (SCOOP).
Deliver technical support and user training to HR staff and internal stakeholders to drive adoption and optimal utilization of HR platforms.
C&B Operations & HR Projects
Support annual performance and compensation review cycles (salary reviews, bonuses, promotions), managing data consolidation and system updates in BIPO.
Assist in core C&B operations, including monthly payroll support, internal/external HR audits, year-end tax filings, rental reimbursement compliance, and leave management.
Support key strategic HR projects and perform ad hoc duties as assigned by leadership.
Skills and Experience that will lead to success:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in HRIS within a multinational corporation or large conglomerate.
Hands-on system experience with the BIPO system will be advantageous.
Proven track record in leading digital transformation, process automation, or AI-enabled initiatives within HR or business operations.
Good team player with strong interpersonal skills, and able to collaborate with different teams and external vendors.
Strong customer service mind-set, and able to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility.
Well versed with Hong Kong Employment Ordinance and related regulations.
Excellent command of written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
Work location will be at Causeway Bay office.
