Job summary

Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) seeks a results-driven business development professional to drive opportunities in Mainland China, especially Suzhou and Shanghai. You will build relationships with clients, industry partners and government bodies, translate technical capabilities into commercial value, and manage opportunities from initial engagement to contract signing.

• 5+ years of experience in business development, technical sales or account management.
• Experience in the semiconductor industry is preferred; familiarity with semiconductor equipment, materials, advanced packaging or related technologies is an advantage.
• Ability to understand technical concepts and explain commercial value of solutions.
• Ability to work with R&D and technology teams across locations; communicate client needs and facilitate proposals.
• Fluent Putonghua and working proficiency in English.
• Willingness to travel within Mainland China.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare business proposals, presentations and related documents for client discussions and internal review.
• Visit clients and partners across Mainland China as business needs require.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above; a background in science or engineering is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in business development, technical sales or account management, with the ability to develop clients and advance opportunities independently.
• Experience in the semiconductor industry is preferred; familiarity with semiconductor equipment, materials, advanced packaging or related technologies is an advantage.
• Ability to understand technical concepts, identify client needs and explain the commercial value of technical solutions.
• Ability to work effectively with R&D and technology teams across locations, communicate client needs accurately and facilitate technical discussions and proposals.
• Strong communication, client relationship management and cross-team collaboration skills; proactive and results-oriented.
• Fluent Putonghua and working proficiency in English.
• Willingness to travel within Mainland China.

The appointment will be on renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and performance-linked variable pay. Fringe benefits include Social Insurance and Housing Provident Fund. The incumbent will normally work a five-day week.
