Job summary

The Hong Kong Red Cross seeks an experienced Community Resilience professional to Plan and organize services for high-risk groups, lead workshops, and build external partnerships.

Requirements include a degree in Social Work, 2+ years of related experience, and strong English/Cantonese skills. Role involves supervising staff, managing logistics, and delivering community-based initiatives in West Kowloon.

Qualifications

• Degree holder in Social Work (preferred).
• Two years of related work experience preferred.
• Experience in community work, events and volunteer management is an advantage.
• Knowledge of community resilience concepts and participatory approaches is an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal, networking and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize community resilience services for high-risk groups and districts, including workshops and activities.
• Facilitate small-scale risk reduction in households and communities.
• Organize home visits and needs assessments for service users.
• Establish and maintain networks with external partners and government departments.
• Handle logistics, reporting and administrative duties including budgeting and procurement.
• Supervise staff and volunteers in workshops and activities.
• Carry out ad hoc projects as assigned.

Job description

The Hong Kong Red Cross was established in 1950. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and organize community resilience services to high-risk groups / in high-risk districts, including but not limited to workshops and activities to enhance disaster preparedness capacity of high-risk population and the general public
• Facilitate small-scale risk reduction work in rural and urban households or communities
• Organize home visit and conduct needs assessment of the service users related to community resilience project
• Establish and maintain network with external partners, government departments and internal cross-departments
• Handle logistics, reporting and administrative duties, including funding proposal, budgeting report, procurement
• Supervise and lead the staff and volunteers in workshops and community activities
• Carry out ad hoc projects and tasks when assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

• Degree holder is a must, preferably in Social Work
• Two years of related work experience is preferred
• Solid experience in community work, event and project management and volunteer management are definite an advantage
• Knowledge in community resilience concept and participatory approach are an advantage
• Service-oriented with good interpersonal, networking and presentation skills
• Mature and independent, well organized and attentive to details
• Self-motivated and good team leader
• Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
• Proficient in PC knowledge
