Job summary

Chief Group Limited is seeking an Assistant HR Manager (Training & Performance Management) to design annual learning strategies across retail brokerage, institutional markets, wealth management and back-office teams. You will lead CPT administration for licensed staff and oversee onboarding, soft skills, and leadership development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience focusing on L&D/Training and Performance Management.
  • Prior HR experience within securities firms, banks, asset management, or financial institutions is highly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of SFC licensing rules and CPT requirements for licensed representatives and ROs.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute annual training strategies across multiple business lines (retail, institutional, wealth, back-office).
  • Oversee CPT administration for all licensed staff to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
  • Develop onboarding programs, soft skills workshops, sales enablement, compliance updates, and leadership development courses.
  • Source and manage relationships with external training providers and universities within budget.
  • Lead end-to-end performance appraisal processes and align KPIs/scorecards with business goals.
  • Coach managers on performance reviews, goal setting, and performance improvement plans (PIPs).
  • Analyze performance data to identify high-potentials and trends and deliver insights to HR leadership.

Job description

Assistant HR Manager (Training & Performance Management)

Assess skill gaps across retail brokerage, institutional markets, wealth management, and back-office teams to design and execute annual training strategies.

Oversee, track, and manage mandatory Continuous Professional Training (CPT) requirements for all licensed staff under SFC regulations, ensuring compliance and audit readiness.

Develop and deliver onboarding programs, soft skills workshops, sales enablement sessions, compliance updates, and leadership development courses.

Source, evaluate, and manage relationships with external training providers, professional bodies, and universities to deliver high-quality programs within budget.

2. Performance Management

Lead the end-to-end execution of performance appraisal processes, ensuring timely completion and objectivity across all departments.

Partner with department heads and business leaders to define, align, and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) and scorecards that drive business growth and operational efficiency.

Provide guidance and training to managers on conducting constructive performance reviews, goal setting, and managing underperformance through performance improvement plans (PIPs).

Analyze performance review data to identify high-potentials, skill gaps, and performance trends, delivering actionable insights to HR leadership and executive management.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related discipline.

5+ years of progressive HR experience, with a primary focus on L&D/Training and Performance Management.

Prior HR experience within securities firms, banks, asset management, or financial institutions is highly preferred.

Solid understanding of SFC licensing rules and CPT requirements for licensed representatives and responsible officers.

Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.

Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with the confidence to conduct training sessions and interact with stakeholders at all levels.

Exceptional interpersonal skills, strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
