Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking a proactive Support Analyst in Hong Kong to perform daily system health checks and real-time monitoring of production systems within a fast-paced trading environment. You will act as a conduit between developers, project managers, operations, traders and external brokers, ensuring smooth information flow while addressing production issues and implementing business requests.

The role also involves maintaining Confluence docs and gaining deep knowledge of OMS, market data

Qualifications

• Must have two years of experience in the financial industry, trading, market data, OMS, FIX.
• Experience with market data across equities and derivatives is preferred.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform and automate daily morning system health checks and real-time monitoring of production systems.
• Act as a liaison between developers, operations, traders and brokers to ensure information flow for requests and issues.
• Maintain technical/user documentation and Confluence for new and existing systems.
• Develop a deep understanding of the firm's trading, OMS, market data, and settlement/workflow processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability and usability through automation and technology.
• Support a trading room environment and collaborate with traders; work with market data systems.
• Experience with Linux/Windows, Bash scripting and Python; PowerShell, VBA, C# optional; networking awareness.

Job description

• You will perform and automate daily morning system health check and perform continuous real-time monitoring of production systems
• As a support analyst, you will act as a link between developers, project managers, operations, traders and external brokers/exchanges, ensuring appropriate information flow when implementing business requests and investigating problems relating to the production environment.
• You will maintain technical/user documentation/confluence for new/existing systems.
• You’ll gain a thorough understanding of the entire company's trading, Order Management Systems (OMS), market data, static data and settlement/clearing systems and workflows.
• As a part of our support team, you will identify opportunities for improving reliability and usability through the use of technology.
• Experience supporting a trading room environment and working with closely with traders.
• Experience working with market data.
• Experience working on the Linux or Windows operating systems
• Technical skills in bash and python scripting. Optional - PowerShell, VBA, C# and/or other programming languages.
• Knowledge of Network fundamentals is a good to have.
• A working knowledge of messaging middleware.
• Demonstrated desire for continuous problem solving and process improvement.

What we are looking for

• Preferably degree qualified professional with a major in Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
• Must have experience in the Financial Industry particularly around trading, market data, OMS, FIX protocol and other related systems - minimum two years.
• Preferably have an understanding of financial market, instruments, and market data across equities and derivatives.
• Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Must be able to work under pressure with changing priorities in a trading room environment.
• Demonstrate high level of attention to detail, desire to identify and drive operational and technical improvements within the Susquehanna environment.
