Job summary

Ares Management is seeking an entrepreneurial communications professional to join the Corporate Communications & Marketing team as an Associate in Hong Kong. You will support external communications, promote and protect the Ares brand across APAC, and work with senior stakeholders to manage media relations.

The role emphasizes proactive media engagement, storytelling, and cross-functional collaboration across an international team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 3 years of corporate communications experience, in-house or at a strategic firm.
• Understanding of asset management and/or financial services industry.
• Strong English and Chinese written and verbal communication.
• Experience tracking and measuring results to ensure outcomes.
• Interpersonal and networking skills with cross-functional, multicultural teams.

Responsibilities

• Support media engagement and inbound media inquiries with internal stakeholders.
• Draft press releases, talking points, Q&As, and communications plans; manage review processes.
• Develop storylines and pitch media in line with leadership priorities; arrange interviews.
• Identify and secure external speaking engagements and high-profile media opportunities.
• Build and strengthen APAC media relationships and maintain journalist contact database.
• Deliver timely communications and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
• Track media coverage and assist with press releases and awards submissions as needed.
• Serve as trusted advisor to leadership teams and support portfolio companies on communications matters.
