Job summary

Citibank (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking an Equity Financing Trader at Associate/VP level to manage a secured equity financing book across APAC markets. The role focuses on driving revenue, optimising funding costs, and mitigating risk in partnership with Trading, Sales and Structuring teams.

You will optimise collateral pools, develop market surveillance tools, and collaborate with control functions to ensure governance and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of experience in equity financing or a related trading role.
• In-depth knowledge of equity financing products and APAC equity market structure.
• Strong coding ability in Python and/or SQL, with demonstrated application to trading tools or analytics.
• Proficiency in Bloomberg, booking systems and trading protocols.

Responsibilities

• Arrange secured financing for APAC markets to meet regulatory and internal requirements, raise liquidity, and optimise funding costs.
• Drive optimisation of financial resource usage, with particular focus on GSIB footprint and RWA efficiency.
• Manage the collateral pool, including margin and haircut optimisation, to reduce the cost of funding across Equities businesses.
• Develop and manage relationships with external trading counterparties; assess market situations and identify suitable counterparties.
• Coordinate with Sales, Structuring, and other organisations across Markets and the broader business.
• Develop tools and workflows to enhance trading efficiency, book position monitoring, and market surveillance.
