Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking an Internal AI Lead for Greater China to drive regional AI strategy, governance, and adoption. You will spearhead hands-on deployment of regional LLMs and tools while aligning with global frameworks. This role requires working with C-suite executives and multiple business units to unlock productivity gains.

You will design and deliver training to ensure high adoption, navigate data privacy and regulatory requirements, and lead change across the organization.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in building and delivering AI solutions at an infrastructure level.
• Expert familiarity with regional and global AI governance and data-residency requirements.
• Experience leading change management and adoption across large organizations.

Operating in a unique geopolitical and technology landscape, you will bridge the gap between global strategy and local execution. Because our global AI standard platform (Anthropic Claude) is unavailable in China/Hong Kong, you will have the technical mandate to design, build, and implement our own regional AI platform and solutions. You will act as a champion for AI innovation, driving internal productivity, leading change management, and ensuring robust governance across all business lines.

The Team

We are seeking an execution-focused Internal AI Lead for Greater China to drive our regional AI strategy, governance, and adoption.

How You Will Contribute

• Regional AI Strategy & Execution: Develop AI strategy for the region, taking into consideration the regulatory and solutions options in each market (e.g. HK vs Mainland China). Design and implement a robust, flexible, localized AI ecosystem for Greater China. You will lead the hands-on deployment of alternative regional LLM solutions (e.g., Alibaba Qwen, Moonshot Kimi, GLM) while maintaining compatibility with A&M global frameworks.
• AI Governance & Compliance: Establish and enforce regional AI governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with evolving data privacy, security, and local AI regulations (including CAC guidelines in Mainland China and HK regulations).
• Business Integration & Productivity: Partner with diverse business units and service lines to identify high-impact use cases, deploying both custom regional models and application-level tools to drive massive productivity gains.
• Executive Leadership & Communication: Act as the primary liaison for A&M regional and global executives. Translate complex AI capabilities and regulatory constraints into clear, strategic business insights.
• Change Management, Learning & Adoption: Drive regional culture shift and practical literacy in AI. Design and deliver training programs to ensure high adoption rates of new AI tools across all team levels.

Qualification

• Proven track record of building, fine-tuning, and delivering AI solutions at an infrastructure level (beyond use of AI solutions).
• Expert-level familiarity with the nuances, strengths, and deployment of both Chinese LLMs (Alibaba Qwen, Moonshot Kimi, Zhipu GLM) and US-based models (Google Gemini).
• Robust understanding of data residency, security protocols, and compliance landscapes in Mainland China and Hong Kong.
• Extensive experience presenting to, influencing, and aligning with C-suite and global executives.
• Proven ability to manage organizational change, scale technology adoption, and run regional training initiatives.
