Job summary

Wa Cheong Plastic Factory Limited seeks an experienced Accounting Manager / Assistant Accounting Manager to lead financial operations across Hong Kong and Mainland China. Reporting to the General Manager, you will supervise the accounting team, streamline processes, and strengthen internal controls.

You will drive ERP optimization, oversee monthly closings, prepare management reports, and ensure compliance with HKFRS and PRC GAAP where applicable. Strong cross-border experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting/Finance.
• CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant experience with supervisory exposure; manufacturing with international clientele is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting team and oversee full-cycle accounting including vouchers, ledger, reconciliations, AR/AP.
• Drive ERP optimization to automate procedures and improve data integrity.
• Develop and enforce accounting policies and internal controls.
• Manage monthly closings and prepare financial/management reports for senior leadership.
• Perform journal postings, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
• Analyze financial statements, balance sheet schedules, and variances to support decisions.
• Collaborate with China team on inter-entity balances and ICST reconciliations.
• Assist with audits and tax/compliance matters.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced, business-minded Accounting Manager / Assistant Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations. Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee the full spectrum of accounting, trade finance, and cross-border financial workflows across Hong Kong and Mainland China.

You will lead, mentor, and review the work of the accounting team, streamline complex processes, optimize our ERP system, and strengthen internal controls to safeguard operations in both jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Process Optimization

• Lead and supervise the accounting team in delivering full-cycle accounting independently (voucher entry, ledger maintenance, reconciliations, AR/AP settlement) in compliance with HKFRS and internal policies.


• Drive ERP optimization initiatives to automate manual procedures, reduce administrative overhead, and improve data integrity.


• Evaluate, implement, and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.


• Oversee monthly closing and prepare comprehensive financial and management reports for senior leadership.


• Perform and review journal postings, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.


• Analyze financial statements, review balance sheet schedules, and conduct variance analyses to support decision-making.

Cross-Border & Compliance Coordination

• Work closely with the China team to manage inter-entity balances, inventory balances, and ICST reconciliations.


• Prepare and review audit schedules and financial statements for internal and external audits.


• Maintain fixed asset, leasing, and insurance schedules.


• Assist with taxation, legal compliance, and company secretarial matters as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.


• 8+ years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role; audit and commercial experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment with international clientele.


• CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.


• Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations (HKFRS and PRC GAAP familiarity an advantage).


• Practical knowledge of L/C, D/P, D/A trade structures and international shipping procedures preferred.


• Experience with ERP systems (Epicor knowledge is an added advantage) to generate financial reports.


• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin


• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.


• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
