Job summary

ATAL Engineering Ltd in Hong Kong invites an Accountant (Financial Accounting) to join our finance team in Tsim Sha Tsui. You will handle monthly closings, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and assist in statutory reporting under HKFRS/IFRS with HKEX rules.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Accountancy or Finance, is a qualified accountant, and has 2–4 years in construction/engineering accounting. Proficiency in Excel (VBA preferred) and familiarity with Oracle ERP is a plus.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel and VBA knowledge highly preferred.

• Intercompany analysis and balance sheet/P&L variance review.

Accountant (Financial Accounting) (REF: FIN/A)

Monthly Closing & Operations: Prepare monthly, half yearly and year-end financial closings, journal entries, and bank reconciliations for assigned group entities.

Statutory & Group Reporting: Prepare statutory financial statements, notes, and reporting packages in compliance with HKFRS / IFRS and HKEX Listing Rules.

Interim & Annual Reporting: Actively participate in the preparation of statutory financial statements, disclosures, and notes for the group’s interim and annual reports in compliance with HKFRS / IFRS and HKEX Listing Rules.

Audit & Tax Coordination: Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors; manage statutory audits and tax returns for assigned group entities.

Intercompany & Account Analysis: Perform monthly variance analyses on balance sheet and P&L accounts; review and reconcile intercompany accounts across group entities.

Internal Controls & Compliance: Support the maintenance of internal accounting controls, risk compliance, and process improvements across the financial accounting function.

Ad-hoc Assignments: Support technical accounting research, ERP system enhancements, and special corporate finance or reporting projects.

Requirements:

Degree in Accountancy, Finance or similar discipline, Qualified accountant

Minimum 2-4 years relevant experience with background in construction / engineering industry preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft office and applications; well versed in Excel, VBA knowledge/ experience highly preferred

Knowledge in ERP and experience in Oracle is an advantage

Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese

Excellent communication skills, able to work and interface well with personnel at various levels

Proactive, independent, committed and with strong sense of responsibility to meet tight deadlines
