Job summary

Burson, part of WPP, is seeking an Account Executive in Hong Kong to support day-to-day client activities under supervision. You will learn the ropes and help the senior account team manage relationships, delight clients and contribute to new business efforts.

You will participate in planning and coordinating press materials, events, and digital programs while developing your understanding of industries, competitors, and client needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months of PR internship experience.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
• Ability to work both independently and as a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good problem-solving and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Be knowledgeable about clients, their industries and competitors; stay updated on relevant publications and news outlets.
• Draft actionable client communications materials under guidance (status reports, campaign summaries, activity reports).
• Participate in team and client meetings; present your views when appropriate.
• Monitor media coverage and support daily administrative tasks.
• Coordinate press materials and events such as press kits, releases and conferences.
• Support social media/digital programs and stay updated on trends.
• Listen for opportunities during client meetings and suggest ideas to senior team members.
• Assist seniors with research, case studies for proposals and industry submissions.
• Engage with industry analysts and third parties.

More About The Role

As an Account Executive, you will contribute to Burson’s performance by engaging in day-to-day client activities under the supervision and guidance of senior team members. You are required to actively learn the ropes and support the senior account team members to manage client relationships, satisfying and delighting clients and generating new business. You will also be expected to support our corporate strategy and your practice or office to help ensure superior client service, a winning culture and profitability.

What You’ll Do

• Be knowledgeable about your clients, their industries and competitors; stay updated on client trade publications, national/regional news outlets
• Be a keen learner and know the technicalities behind skilled writing to be able to draw up actionable client communications materials such as status reports, campaign summary reports, general activity reports etc., under guidance and supervision
• Actively participate in team and client meetings and be comfortable sharing and presenting your views internally and in front of clients, if appropriate
• Monitor media coverage of clients and support the account team on daily administrative tasks
• Play an active role in coordinating press materials and events such as press kits, releases and press conferences
• Learn the social media trends and support the seniors in implementing social media/digital programs
• Listen attentively during client meetings for potential opportunities and suggest ideas to your senior team members as they could lead to new business
• Assist the senior members of the team with research, case studies and other materials for client presentations, new business proposals, pitches and industry award submissions to drive business for Burson
• Engaging and working with industry analysts and third parties
