Job summary

Cathay Pacific Airways Limited in Hong Kong invites high-potential engineering graduates to join the 2027 Engineering Graduate Trainee Programme. Participants will rotate across Cathay Engineering, gaining exposure to operations and fleet management in a leading global airline.

Through structured rotations, professional development, and challenging projects, trainees build technical, operational and leadership capabilities to support safe, reliable and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Final year students or recent graduates (within 2 years of graduation) in Engineering, Aerospace or related discipline.
• Right to work in Hong Kong (eligible visa holders welcome, TTPS/IANG).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication in English.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, influence or organise teams, projects or activities.
• Curious, adaptable and eager to learn in a dynamic operational environment.
• Passion for aviation and Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of Cathay's Engineering Department and the wider organisation, including its purpose, strategy, operating model, values and business drivers.
• Acquire a broad understanding of Engineering operations and learn the objectives of each rotational assignment.
• Develop leadership, decision-making and stakeholder management skills within a complex airline engineering environment.
• Work with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to support business, operational and strategic initiatives.
• Lead and contribute to projects and continuous improvement initiatives, showing ownership and accountability.
• Apply technical knowledge, analytical thinking and industry best practices to support Engineering operations and project delivery.
• Contribute innovative ideas and leverage emerging technologies and data-driven approaches to improve Engineering performance.
• Demonstrate adaptability, learning agility and a continual desire to develop professionally and personally.

About the Programme

The Engineering Graduate Trainee Programme is designed to develop high-potential engineering professionals with the technical, operational and leadership capabilities to help shape the future of Cathay Engineering.

Through structured rotations, professional development opportunities and challenging project assignments, trainees gain broad exposure across Engineering operations while building the technical, operational and leadership capabilities required to support the safe, reliable and efficient management of one of the world's most technologically advanced fleets.
