A regional healthcare provider in Derby is seeking a skilled pharmacist to lead the cancer pharmacy team. This role involves supervising pharmacy operations, participating in multidisciplinary rounds, and engaging in non-medical prescribing related to oncology. The ideal candidate will have a pharmacist qualification and experience in clinical settings. The Cancer Pharmacist Team at UHDB has long held a high reputation for their proactive and innovative work, effective use of cutting-edge technology, and an unparalleled responsiveness to implementing new treatments into the Trust.
Working across multiple sites, the team has embraced true collaborative cross-site working, providing exceptional care to patients undergoing chemotherapy in an outpatient and inpatient setting.
The team also comprises of several non-medical prescribers supporting clinicians in chemotherapy clinics, independently prescribing SACT, managing toxicities and providing support and advice to patients. Their contribution to the service has reduced clinician workload, reduced waiting times, and improved patient experience.
The Trust has recognised the significant and meaningful impact the cancer pharmacist team has on cancer care delivery, and has been continuously investing in us to maintain excellent care.
The successful post holders will operate within a hybrid-role model, consolidating traditional pharmacist duties with non-medical prescribing, with 0.5WTE dedicated to each aspect of the role.
Please note this is a cross-site post, and successful post holders will be expected to work across Royal Derby Hospital and Queens Burton Hospital as required.
