Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We work hard to enrich the lives of people with many different care needs. It’s exciting and rewarding work, and we’re full of pride and passion for what we do.

Since the early days, we’ve grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity and respect. This resonates in our vision of ‘Your Life, Your Choice’ and our strategy ‘Best Lives Possible’.

We have strong values and we’re proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. In the past two years, we have won or made the shortlist for over national and regional awards!

We are also focused on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going ‘the extra mile’ for the people we support and in return, we go the extra mile for them by investing in pay, recognition, wellbeing and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop, should you decide you want to develop your career with us.

Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:
  • There are 4 people living in the bungalows at Shillmoor, we are all very different and have different needs, we are 19-60 in age.
  • Most of us won’t need any physical assistance but we may need staff support when we go out and about. We have different challenges in our lives which include autism and learning disabilities. We have a staff team who are all trained in our specific needs and are familiar with us.
  • We all enjoy different activities, including walking, swimming, trampolining, LEGO and many other things.
  • Other interests we have are watching retro cartoons, listening to music, visiting museums, home baking and some of us like to go on day trips.
  • We would not enjoy spending time with people who are bossy, in a hurry or very noisy as it would tend to make a few of us upset.
  • There are always at least 7 colleagues on shift.
  • We like our staff to work 8am to 10pm and Nights 10pm to 8am. We also have a waking night shift in some of our homes.
  • In order to support us to have the Best Life Possible our team have specialist training in Positive Behaviour Support, Total communication, autism and learning disabilities.
Your values:

The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 in Social Care and strong experience in mental health, autism and sensory communication, physical health and PBS experience.

If you do not have a qualification, you will need to have experience in social care.

You will know how to connect with people and be passionate about supporting people to live independently. You will also be a brilliant mentor and share your skills and experiences with your colleagues.

We will develop your talents with a range of specialist training, including the opportunity to learn Positive Behaviour Support methods, Makaton and the Picture Exchange System.

During recruitment you will meet the people we support in their home. This will allow you to see their wonderful personalities first-hand and fully understand the level of support that they require.

Naturally it is important too that you share our company values - We Include; We Deliver; We Aspire; We Respect; We Enable, which are at the heart of everything we do and ensure that we deliver high quality, consistent care and support. People's values are important to us, so we look for people with:
