We are looking for a speech and language therapist to join our special schools team. You will be based at one of our special schools, working with a small team of therapists. You will be joining a friendly, supportive and forward‑thinking team.

Speech and Language Therapists are core to the efficient service delivery we provide to children, young people and their families.
As a Speech and Language Therapist in our service, you will deliver care to children, young people and their families in Waltham Forest. You will work in a special school for children with visual impairment as well as other diagnoses such as autism. You will join a small team working in the school and a wider network within our Special Schools team.
Our band five therapists receive strong support through a peer supervision group and regular supervision from an experienced therapist. We also hold catch‑meetings and service‑specific meetings. We offer both internal and external training opportunities and promote a reflective, progressive culture where change is welcomed.
Starting dates: All new starters begin the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undergo a comprehensive induction lasting up to two weeks, including mandatory training, system training and equipment allocation. Induction is held at our head office in Rainham, Essex. A new starter also meets the executive team, senior managers and attends drop‑in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.
Probationary period: This post is subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt unless currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff.
High Cost Area supplement: This post attracts payment for a high‑cost‑area supplement of 15% of the basic salary (subject to a minimum payment of £4,714 and a maximum payment of £5,941).
