Job summary
An award-winning manufacturing company based in Dunmurry is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee the management and continuous improvement of plant facilities. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in facilities management and a strong background in plant maintenance. Responsibilities include managing service contracts, leading energy efficiency projects, and ensuring operational cost reductions. A Minimum of 2 years’ experience or at least 5 years in a similar role is required, along with excellent team management skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, upkeep, and continuous improvement of all plant facilities. Core duties will include:
- Overseeing service contracts and regularly evaluating the cost-effectiveness of outsourcing versus in-house service provision.
- Leading the planning, installation, and commissioning of facilities and energy efficiency projects, ensuring clear communication with all stakeholders throughout.
- Implementing and maintaining an effective system to monitor gas and electricity usage across the plant.
- Identifying opportunities to reduce operational costs by optimising supplier performance and delivering improvement initiatives.
Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:
- Hold a Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent in Building Services or Engineering, along with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a plant maintenance environment, or
- Possess at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a plant maintenance setting or similar (manufacturing).
In addition, candidates must have:
- Proven experience in team management
- A track record of contract negotiation
- Experience overseeing on-site contractors
While not required, the following qualifications and experience would be advantageous:
- A degree in Building Services or an Engineering discipline
- Background in plant maintenance within a continuous production environment
- Demonstrated success in leading cost reduction and process improvement initiatives
- Project management experience
