Job summary
An advocacy organization in Sutton seeks a Learning Disability Groups Advocate to support adults with learning disabilities facing mental health challenges. The role involves facilitating group work and 1-1 advocacy, promoting wellbeing, and ensuring individuals understand their rights. Candidates should have at least one year experience and a good educational background. This position is part-time at 14 hours per week, with a salary of £10,825 per annum.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year's experience of working with learning disabled adults in a professional context.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience of working in a busy office environment.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate in-person and online groups in the Sutton borough.
- Empower individuals to challenge situations that compromise adequate support.
- Support individuals in a way that promotes dignity and respect.
