We have an excellent opportunity to join Miller as a Bid Manager in a growing team of talented proposal experts in our Management Services Business unit.

The Opportunity

In this position, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of work and deliver a real impact; specifically in providing sales support and guidance with business retention and growth goals.

Role Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with Business Units across Miller on tenders and lead the production of high-quality sales collateral across the bid cycle.
  2. Provide effective Project / Bid management processes to deliver planning, resource coordination, and timely delivery.
  3. Understand the requirements of the RFP to identify key themes and messages to develop a winning strategy.
  4. Undertake client/prospect research on the client to establish the Unique Value Proposition.
  5. Conduct a thorough pre-bid assessment to determine whether to pursue or decline.
  6. Establish the relevant Miller Unique Selling Proposition and translate it into the Value Proposition for the client/prospect.
  7. Coordinate the relevant information from the project teams and subject matter experts to influence our overall response, ensuring they stand out from the competition.
  8. Draft relevant sections of the RFP response document and clearly articulate Miller’s value proposition to the client / prospect.
  9. Review client-facing documents in its entirety to challenge quality and messaging ensuring consistency and the highest quality of output.
  10. Prepare presentation aids and coach teams on presentation skills and how to effectively articulate our value proposition and the ‘Miller Difference’.
  11. Assist in drafting pre-qualification questions and RFIs.
  12. Work in close collaboration with the Business Units on silent reviews and capability reports requested by clients/prospects to ensure Miller is competitively positioned in such documents.
  13. Collaborate with other bid team members on bid strategy/content and the brainstorming of ideas and solutions for a greater success rate.
  14. Review competitor strategies and materials to ensure Miller’s offering is consistently amongst the ‘best in class’.
  15. Provide strategic and tactical input to Business Units in developing effective sales strategies.
  16. Draft report, proofread, check for consistency, and suggest areas of improvement.
  17. Coordinate the document design and production process with external agencies and printers to ensure that material is delivered to the required standards and is in brand.
  18. Manage the quality and continuous development of the bid content library and related materials, including the development and deployment of ‘standard content’ across the business.
  19. Input new data and contribute to the management of Monday.com system for data capturing and reporting on wins and losses, understanding the key themes and drivers.
  20. Assist with reports to Senior Executives on tender feedback and competitor analysis.
  21. Adhere to and meet fully the expectations of Miller, as set out in its policies and procedures, training material, and embedded in its systems and controls. Our policies and procedures are written to encapsulate the compliance, legal, and financial crime-related legislation and regulations which apply to Miller.
  22. Comply with any external rules and requirements imposed on individuals performing their role at Miller, such as Lloyd’s byelaws and FCA rules.
  23. Promote Miller brand and values to enhance Miller’s reputation in the market.

Qualifications

  1. Educated to Degree level.
  2. CII qualifications desirable.
  3. (Re)insurance market knowledge desirable.

Knowledge

  1. Strong ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  2. Insurance/reinsurance market dynamics and role of the broker.
  3. Strong written capabilities.

Experience

  1. Experience within the Financial, Professional Services, or (re)insurance sector.
  2. Project Management.
  3. Bid management and strategic creative writing ability.
  4. Successful collaborative working with internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Ability to positively challenge individuals at senior level on content.
  6. Excellent communication and influencing skills.
