Job summary
A logistics company in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Transport Planner based in Telford. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the vehicle fleet and driver team to ensure effective scheduling of deliveries and collections. Key responsibilities include planning daily routes, monitoring operations, maintaining compliance, and supporting continuous improvements. Proficiency in transport management systems and strong knowledge of the UK road network are essential. This is a permanent position with a salary of up to 30K.
Qualifications
- Must have previous transport planning experience.
- Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions.
- Proficient with transport management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
- Plan and allocate daily routes for drivers.
- Monitor live operations and resolve any issues or delays.
- Communicate clearly with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
- Ensure legal and company compliance, including WTD and driver hours.
- Maintain accurate records and update systems in real time.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in planning processes.
- Support the wider operations team when required.
- Liaise with drivers as and when required.

We are hiring for an experienced Transport Planner based in Telford.

- 8am-5pm
- Up to 30K Salary
- Must have previous transport planning experience
As a Transport Planner, you will play a key role in the day-to-day coordination of the vehicle fleet and driver team. You ll ensure that all deliveries and collections are scheduled effectively, resources are maximised, and service levels remain consistently high.
- Plan and allocate daily routes for drivers
- Monitor live operations and resolve any issues or delays
- Communicate clearly with drivers, customers, and internal teams
- Ensure legal and company compliance, including WTD and driver hours
- Maintain accurate records and update systems in real time
- Contribute to continuous improvements in planning processes
- Support the wider operations team when required
- Liase with drivers as and when required making outbound and taking inbound calls
- Must have previous transport plannng experience
- Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions
- Proficient with transport management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office
- A team player with strong organisational skills
