Job summary
A recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee all finance functions within a growing business in Cardiff. Responsibilities include management accounts preparation, project cost reporting, and cashflow forecasting. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, Excel proficiency, and experience with accounting software like Xero. This is a hands-on role that requires onsite presence every day.

- Confident communicator, able to build good relationships with external customers/suppliers.
- Experience in managing accounts and finance functions.
- Hands-on approach with versatility in tasks.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of Management Accounts including P&L and Balance Sheet.
- Producing project cost reports.
- Working with external accountants on year-end statements.
Skills
An independent group of companies in Cardiff are now recruiting for a Finance Manager on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role is responsible for all aspects of the finance function of the business unit, from processing invoices to management accounts preparation and year-end.
Working in a project-led environment, applicants will be versatile in their approach and be able to roll their sleeves up as well as provide strategic advice.
- Management Accounts preparation including P&L and Balance Sheet accounts.
- Producing project cost reports, materials, labour, etc.
- Working with external accountants on year-end statements and financial reports.
- Complete VAT Returns, ensuring codes are submitted correctly.
- Cashflow forecasting.
- Responsible for all Sales and Purchase Ledger duties including query resolution, credit control, payment allocation etc.
- Bank Reconciliations.
- Confident communicator, able to work with people of varying seniority and build good relationships with external customers/suppliers.
- Happy to get involved with all aspects of the job.
- Confident using Excel and experience of working with an Accounting software, ideally Xero.
