We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Full Sutton, as a Deputy Local Education Manager. This position is offered on a permanent full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

Novus are a leading provider of prison education and have been supporting men, women, and children of all ages for over 30 years across the UK to take new directions. Our business is growing year on year due to our continued success as a leading provider in prison education.

HMP Full Sutton is a Category A high-security prison located in East Yorkshire, approximately 11 miles from York. It accommodates around 600 adult male prisoners, many of whom are serving long-term or life sentences. The prison offers a structured and secure environment where education plays a vital role in rehabilitation. Learners are supported through a range of educational and vocational programmes.

• Teaching qualification - minimum Cert Ed or PGCE
• Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
• Developing, leading and managing a team effectively
• Managing colleagues including the deployment of those colleagues and appropriate delegation of tasks
• Implementing and managing continuous quality assurance and improvement procedures
• Successful partnership working
• Working within a secure environment
• Working with learners with challenging behaviour
