At Leonardo Helicopters, we are seeking a Data Engineer. You will report to the Control Tower Manager and be responsible for building, testing, and maintaining data management systems to enable efficient data analytics within the Procurement and Supply Chain functions, collaborating closely with Digital Services.
This is a level 5 role according to our internal Salary and Career Progression Framework (SC&PF).
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deliver data pipelines for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from diverse sources
- Integrate large, complex data sets to provide information to key stakeholders
- Identify, design, and implement process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, designing data models
- Recommend improvements for data management to control the data lifecycle
- Employ advanced methods to prepare data for prognostic, predictive, and prescriptive modeling
- Conduct research to enhance data integrity and update company systems accordingly
- Collaborate with stakeholders such as Engineering, Operations, and Material Services on data-related issues and support their data needs, applying this knowledge to Procurement and Supply Chain as appropriate
- Support Data Analysis work for Procurement and Supply Chain and related functions
- Utilize Data Engineering tools and technologies effectively
- Manipulate, process, and extract value from large datasets
- Apply strong analytical skills to interpret data
- Work confidently with relational databases and query writing
- Perform root cause analysis on data quality and process issues to answer business questions and identify improvements
- Maintain strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Communicate effectively across the organization, understanding different contexts
- Make complex information accessible for non-technical audiences
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python and SQL is advantageous; ability to learn new languages is essential
