A leading recruitment agency is looking for a Civil Engineer (Tunnelling) to join a significant energy infrastructure project in Bridgwater. The role involves providing technical expertise, reviewing design changes, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Candidates should have a strong background in concrete design and tunnelling, alongside relevant qualifications. This position is contract-based and offers a hybrid working pattern.
Location: Site based, Bridgwater (3 days per week) and remote working (2 days per week). Status: Inside IR35. Type: Contract - approved until 31 December 2026. Reports to: Area Lead. Morson Talent are delighted to present an opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Civil Engineer (Tunnelling) to join our client's established team for work associated with a nationally significant energy infrastructure project in Somerset.
The Civil Engineer (Tunnelling) will provide technical expertise to support and ensure the review, acceptance and technical delivery of design changes during construction of the marine works. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of concrete design codes such as Eurocode 2 and their application in the marine and tunnelling environment. You will work closely with the Site Joint Design Office (JDO) Design Team and Construction team to maintain the technical quality of responses (content / consistency / exhaustiveness / accuracy) and construction safety. You will demonstrate accuracy, tenacity, diplomacy, results-orientation and be a team player, draft programmes and action plans in order to deliver specific project / assignment objectives.
