A global aerospace company in Wolverhampton seeks a Quality Engineer to lead quality processes in assembly and test. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of aerospace manufacturing experience and strong knowledge of AS9100/NADCAP. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance and driving quality improvements across teams, offering an opportunity to influence manufacturing standards significantly.

What does the role look like?

As a Quality Engineer in our High Lift Value Stream, you'll be the go-to expert for all quality-related matters in assembly and test. You'll ensure compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory requirements while working closely with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and drive improvements in quality performance. This role is central to maintaining our Quality Management System (QMS) and engaging in proactive problem-solving to ensure robust and consistent manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for quality across the High Lift Value Stream.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, NADCAP and customer standards.
  • Manage and develop the QMS, support audits and drive CAPA implementation.
  • Lead root cause analysis activities (e.g., PPS, 8D, RRCA) and support continuous improvement.
  • Analyse quality data, identify trends and propose corrective actions.
  • Support PFMEAs, design reviews, and process maturity initiatives.
  • Engage with customers and internal teams to resolve quality concerns.
  • Train personnel on quality standards and best practices.
Job Requirements

Essential skills

  • In-depth knowledge of AS9100/NADCAP and practical QMS implementation.
  • 2–5 years' experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving ability using quality tools (e.g., 8D, root cause analysis, CAPA).

Desirable skills

  • Understanding of AS9145/PPAP/APQP processes.
