Zest4Talent is recruiting two Senior Electrical Design Engineers for an established multidisciplinary building services consultancy in Rochester, Kent.

Working across residential, commercial, education and hospitality projects, you’ll take ownership of electrical designs and help deliver practical, energy-efficient building services solutions. This office-based role is in Rochester with visa sponsorship available for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical building services design within a consultancy or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of lighting, small power and distribution systems.
• Ability to prepare calculations, specifications and drawings to relevant standards.

• Design electrical building services systems including lighting, small power and distribution.
• Prepare design calculations, specifications, drawings and reports.
• Manage electrical design packages from concept through to completion.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, architects, clients and contractors.
• Ensure designs comply with UK Building Regulations, British Standards and industry guidance.
• Incorporate energy efficiency and sustainability into design solutions.

This opportunity would suit an experienced electrical building services engineer who enjoys managing design responsibilities, working collaboratively and contributing to a varied project portfolio.

The role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing electrical building services systems, including lighting, small power and electrical distribution.
• Preparing design calculations, technical specifications, drawings and reports.
• Managing electrical design packages from concept through to completion.
• Working closely with mechanical engineers, architects, clients and contractors.
• Ensuring designs comply with relevant UK Building Regulations, British Standards and industry guidance.
• Incorporating energy efficiency and sustainability into design solutions.

About you

We’d love to hear from candidates with:

• Strong electrical building services design experience within a consultancy.
• Good technical knowledge of lighting, power distribution and associated systems.
• Experience preparing calculations, specifications and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of relevant UK regulations and electrical design standards.
• Confidence managing design responsibilities and communicating with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.

Location and visa support

This is an office-based position in Rochester, Kent. Applicants must currently live in the UK and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
