Job summary

The North of England Zoological Society (Chester Zoo) is hiring temporary Events Team Members to help deliver weddings, conferences and parties at The Square and The Oakfield pub. You’ll provide hands-on event support, guest service and front-of-house duties across venues.

You’ll lead small conferences, build relationships with clients, and work with teams to ensure world-class experiences. A 8-hour minimum per week contract with varied shifts is offered.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills gained in events, hospitality or similar.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Good numeracy and literacy for orders, menus and payments.
• Cash handling experience and ability to think on your feet.
• A keen eye for detail and high standards; aged 18 or older.
• Bar or barista experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with event setups and pack downs to keep spaces presentable.
• Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service.
• Support food & beverage service including meals, drinks and clearing tables.
• Lead small conferences, liaising with clients and meeting requirements.
• Build lasting client relationships to encourage repeat business.
• Support front-of-house operations across F&B outlets when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation across event spaces and F&B areas.
