Job summary

The BBC Youth Audiences team is seeking a YouTube Entertainment Editor to lead and grow a new entertainment proposition for 16-34-year-olds. Reporting to the Executive Producer, Digital Innovation, Gaming & Creator Content, you will shape editorial strategy, oversee publishing and develop digital-first formats.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading digital-first entertainment content and publishing.
• Experience creating or managing content for 16+ audiences with 16–34 focus.
• Expertise in entertainment, youth culture, and YouTube publishing/optimization.
• Experience with independent production companies and understanding of rights and compliance.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management; commitment to BBC values.

Responsibilities

• Lead editorial strategy, publishing plan and creative direction for the entertainment YouTube channel.
• Manage a publishing team delivering long-form and vertical video content with consistent tone and audience experience.
• Shape content and commissioning decisions based on 16–34 audience insights and platform behaviour.
• Collaborate with BBC teams and independent producers to deliver digital-first entertainment formats.
• Identify trends and creator opportunities resonating with younger audiences.
• Use analytics to optimise content performance, scheduling and growth.
• Act as the editorial lead, securing approvals and championing younger audiences.
