Job summary

BBC Youth Audiences is seeking a senior editor to lead a fixed-term entertainment proposition for 16–34-year-olds. You will set editorial strategy, oversee publishing and develop digital-first formats for a dedicated YouTube channel, reporting to the Executive Producer for Digital Innovation.

You will manage a publishing team and collaborate with independent producers to deliver long-form and vertical video.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading digital-first entertainment content.
• Experience creating, commissioning, publishing or managing content for 16+ audiences.
• Experience commissioning or managing content with independent production companies.

Responsibilities

• Set editorial strategy and publishing plan for the YouTube channel.
• Lead a publishing team producing long-form and vertical video.
• Shape commissioning decisions using insights into 16-34 audiences and platform behaviour.
• Collaborate with BBC teams and independent producers on digital-first formats.
• Identify trends and creator opportunities that appeal to younger audiences.
• Use audience insights and YouTube analytics to improve content performance and channel growth.
• Act as editorial lead, ensuring compliance and securing approvals.
