Youth Worker Position at Prospero Teaching

Prospero Teaching is seeking a motivated and resilient Youth Worker to support students in an alternative provision in Bolton.

The provision caters to students with various needs, including:

• Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
• PTSD or other trauma-related issues
• LAC (Looked After Children)
• SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) or behavioural difficulties

This position is open to individuals with backgrounds in youth work, sports coaching, support work, or mentoring children and young adults. Depending on performance, the school may extend the contract or offer a permanent position.

Contract/Position Details

• Minimum pay rate: GBP 110 per day
• Hours: 8 am - 4 pm, Monday to Friday

Experience, Training, and Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar setting
• LEVEL 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent and above (preferable)
• GCSE Maths and English; computer literate
• Up-to-date safeguarding training issued within the last year
• Recent prevent awareness training within the last 3 years
• Up-to-date FGM and behaviour management training

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
• Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years
