Cover Supervisor - Youth Worker Experience (Full-Time/Part-Time, Temporary)

Moseley, Birmingham

£444 - £500 per week

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience required for this position is experience in a similar position or 5 days in sole charge of a group of children in the last 5 years.

The School and Role

ABC Teachers is currently recruiting Youth Workers to work as Day-to-Day Cover Supervisors across a range of secondary schools in Moseley and nearby areas, starting from September 2025 on a flexible basis. Responsibilities

• Supervising pre-set lessons across various subjects in the absence of the regular teacher
• Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a calm learning environment
• Supporting pupils’ academic and emotional needs with patience and professionalism
• Building positive relationships with students, often those requiring additional pastoral care
  
  

Requirements

The successful Cover Supervisor will have;

• Background in youth work, sports coaching, mentoring or similar roles
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively
• Flexible, reliable and confident working with young people
• Experience in a secondary school setting is desirable but not essential
• Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)
• All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
