We are looking for adedicated, compassionate, and skilled Youth Workerto join our Targeted Youth Work Team, supporting young people aged13–19(up to25for SEND and Care Leavers) as they transition into adulthood.

About the role

You will deliver alternative education programmes, accredited learning opportunities, and both daytime and evening support through one-to-one and group-based work. Including detached youth work in community areas, parks and places of interest.

The Youth Worker will provide intensive, relationship-based support to young people struggling to access school or alternative provision. This includes one to one intervention to address barriers such as anxiety, low confidence, or challenging circumstances, partnership working with schools, families, and wider services, supporting reintegration into education or identifying suitable alternative pathways.

Detached Youth Work - The post includes proactive detached youth work, engaging young people in their communities who may not access traditional services, particularly those who we worry about in contextual safeguarding. This enables early identification of emerging issues and vulnerabilities, building trusted relationships with hard-to-reach young people, providing informal support, information, and signposting, reducing risk taking behaviours and anti-social behaviour.

Replacing this post will help the young people within our service to improve school attendance and engagement in learning, strengthen early intervention and prevention work, enhance community presence and safeguarding through detached youth work.
