Job summary

Itec Skills and Employment in Bridgend is seeking a Youth Tutor on a full-time, 9-month fixed-term contract. You will deliver targeted tutoring sessions, tailor lesson plans, and support learners’ progress to achieve qualifications.

The role supports the JGW+ Welsh Government initiative and focuses on helping NEET individuals gain skills and employability. Responsibilities include engaging learners with varied teaching methods and planning individual learning journeys.

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring NEET individuals
• Minimum Level 3 qualification or Degree equivalent
• Good level of Math and English GCSE C, Level 5 or above

Responsibilities

• Deliver training sessions using a variety of teaching methods to engage learners
• Develop creative lesson plans with differentiated teaching styles
• Plan and support the learner in their individual learning journey
• Help learners achieve qualifications to a high standard and on time

About the role

As a Youth Tutor, you will work closely with students to provide individualised tutoring sessions, support their learning needs, and inspire them to achieve their potential.

Jobs Growth Wales Plus (JGW+) is a Welsh Government initiative that provides work experience and training opportunities to young people and unemployed individuals, enhancing their employability and supporting job creation in various sectors.

Your impact

• Delivering training sessions using a variety of teaching methods to engage, support, and motivate learners to enhance their skills and progression opportunities.
• Develop creative lesson plans incorporating differentiated teaching styles and activities to ensure a quality learning experience.
• Planning and supporting the learner in their individual learning journey.
• Supporting learners to achieve their qualifications to a quality standard in a timely fashion.

What are we looking for?

• Previous experience working as a tutor, trainer, or mentor for young people.
• Previous experience working with NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) individuals
• Minimum Level 3 qualification or Degree equivalent.
• Good level of Math and English GCSE C, Level 5 or above
• Ability to engage, motivate, and support young people in a learning environment.
• Ability to plan lessons, assess learner progress, and provide feedback effectively.
