Job summary

Itec Skills and Employment is hiring an Essential Skills Tutor to work with learners, arranging, conducting and invigilating tasks for their Essential Skills Qualification. The role aligns with Jobs Growth Wales Plus, supporting employability and training opportunities.

You will provide literacy, numeracy and digital literacy support, help learners achieve qualifications on a timely schedule, and plan their learning journey with a focus on quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people.
• Inspiring training and delivery style.
• Willingness to obtain CAVA Level 3 or 8375 Award.
• Willingness to undergo DBS check and EWC registration.
• Full driving license with use of own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide literacy, numeracy and digital literacy support to learners.
• Ensure timely achievement of Essential Skills qualifications.
• Plan and support learners' individual learning journeys.
• Support learners to achieve qualifications to a quality standard.

About the role

As an Essential Skills Tutor, you will work closely with our learners to arrange, conduct, and invigilate controlled tasks for those undertaking their Essential Skills Qualification

Jobs Growth Wales Plus (JGW+) is a Welsh Government initiative that provides work experience and training opportunities to young people and unemployed individuals, enhancing their employability and supporting job creation in various sectors.

Your impact

• Responsible for providing literacy, numeracy and digital literacy support to learners within workshop or one to one setting at Youth premises
• Responsible for ensuring learners timely achievement of their Essential Skills qualifications
• Planning and supporting the learner in their individual learning journey.
• Supporting learners to achieve their qualifications to a quality standard in a timely fashion.

What are we looking for?

• Experience working with young people and/or being passionate about making a difference.
• Engaging and inspirational training and delivery style
• Willingness to work towards CAVA qualification or 8375 practitioners Award Level 3 or equivalent qualifications.
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check (cost covered by the company) and EWC registration
• Full driving license with use of own vehicle
